Green Flag Award 2016
14th November 2016

It was a matter of great pride as OOS was conferred with the Green Flag again for the third consecutive year by the Emirates Center for Arab Towns (ECAT). The internationally recognized Green Flag Award is part of the Eco School Programme. Read more

International Recycle Runway Competition: The students of Grade 9 & 11 were privileged to participate in an International Recycle Runway Competition in the Bride Show Dubai held on 13th February 2016. We were the only school to get selected among all other schools all over UAE and the GCC countries. It was a great experience as students were given a platform to showcase their talents and innovative ideas. The judges, Ms Aishwarya Ajit and Ms.Tala Samman were very impressed with the dresses and were astonished at how the students were competing with university students and professional designers though being the youngest ones there.

MOE Sharjah Award for Quality Education:In a ceremony held at the American University in Sharjah on 9th June 2014, the Director of Sharjah Education Zone- Ms Noora felicitated Our Own English High School Sharjah – Girls’ Branch, with an award in recognition of its efforts to provide quality education and create learning opportunities for its students.

They acknowledged a consistent record of excellence evidenced by the number of academic awards won by the students and the school. They appreciated the school for its high calibre academics with 8 students winning the prestigious Shaikh Hamdaan Award, a large number of students performing exceedingly well in the CBSE Board Examination, extracurricular activities, the Khalifa Award for Academic Excellence 2013 and the International Green Flag Award for sustained environmental awareness 2014.

This award bears testimony to the sustained efforts of team Sharjah comprising of an ongoing partnership with the students, staff, parents and most importantly the local community.

Green Flag Award 2014:Our Own English High School, Sharjah Girls Branch received the Green Flag for demonstrating their excellence in achievements related to environmental issues. This International Award was presented by Ms Lisa Perry, Programme Director, EWS-WWF to the OOS Eco Club Office Bearers at a glittering ceremony held in the school auditorium on May 4, 2014.

The Green Flag is an International Award for excellence in sustainable environmental education and performance at schools. It is operated in the UAE by the Emirates Wildlife Society-World Wildlife Fund (EWS-WWF).

Best School Award 2014 (Heritage Gallery & Images):OOS is the winner of ‘ BEST SCHOOL AWARD FOR HERITAGE GALLERY AND IMAGES’ among all participating schools in the Inter School Competition conducted by the UAE Ministry - Sharjah Educational Zone

Khalifa Award for Education 2012-2013:(Educational and Institutional Performance)

Our Own English High School Sharjah, Girls has won the coveted Khalifa Award for Education 2012-13 in the Educational and Institutional Performance category. This stupendous achievement is the trailblazer for GEMS Schools as Our Own English High School, Sharjah (Girls) is the first to win the prestigious Khalifa Award for Quality Education in the group.

Excellence Award 2012 for Educational Innovation - 2012 by Knowledge Resource Welfare Development and Welfare Group (New Delhi 2012)
Educational Excellence Award - Knowledge Resource Development and Welfare Group - New Delhi (2011)
The school was awarded the Educational Excellence Award by the Knowledge Resource Development and Welfare group- New Delhi. From around 116 Indian schools that had applied for this award, only 20 schools were honoured with this prestigious award for providing holistic and inclusive quality education. At a function in Delhi, our student won a prize in the writing competition and her topic was taken up for discussion in a seminar by eminent educationalists.

Sharjah Environment Awareness Award (2012)
The award was instituted by the Bee'ah School of Environment in collaboration with Sharjah Educational Zone (SEZ) and Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services. the school was proud to receive the award from the CEO of Bee'ah School of Environment Mr Khalid Al Humaimei and Mrs Mona Abdullah Shuhail, the Deputy Director of the Sharjah Educational Zone. The event was attended by His Excellency Sheikh Khalid Bin Saqr Bin Hamad Al Qasimi - the Chairman of the Sharjah Public Works Department and his team.

Sharjah Economic Excellence Award (2008)
At OOEHS, excellence, however, has always meant more than just high levels of academic performance, as experimenting with new ideas, developing new skills, exploring different perspectives, and growing in areas of one’s natural talents are continually encouraged. It is this spirit, coupled with its best practices and quality deliverance that facilitated the school being awarded the Sharjah Economic Excellence Award-2008 (Professional Sector Category).
