Parents Testimonial

  • "Success" is a deep word and we are a trifle hesitant to associate it with Jehan’s activities and humble achievements. But if it could be defined as the relentless, focused pursuit of a worthy goal, then we don’t have any qualms in indulging.

For Jehan, the “K.S Varkey” award was just another interschool recognition. She got her first shot at it in 2014 when she was in Grade 1. We remember her coming back home with a tear stained face since she couldn’t advance beyond the prelims. The grandeur of the whole program must have impressed her much as she was quite earnest to try even better the next year. But she had to come back empty handed yet again.

This is where we could see how the school so skillfully inculcated the “Growth mindset” in her. She stopped being bothered by repeated failures. Aided by her teachers, she would carefully analyze as to what went wrong and would try to fill these gaps in the subsequent year. To make a long story short, undeterred by setbacks, obsessed by the drive to outperform herself, she went all out for it in 2019 for the fifth time. And despite facing heavy competition she went on to win the coveted prize. We still remember the shrill shriek with which she barged into the house that evening. To make things even sweeter her team could bring the rolling trophy back to the school.

More than that particular achievement, we would thank the school for giving our daughter the gifts of ambition and grit. We strongly feel that these are the pillars on which “Success” is built on.

  • I am the parent of Anagha Jagadeesh who just passed out from 12th Grade (12E) with 84% aggregate in the Bio - Psychology stream. Write this email to extend my sincere gratitude to yourself and your entire team for the support and guidance that you provided to Anagha all throughout despite her not faring well in the internal exams. We had met in the month of December at your office due to her poor performance in the internals. It was a tough period for herself and us but the half an hour session with yourself and confidence built from that meeting helped her to overcome the setbacks and we could see a marked improvement in her performance since then. Her final marks say it all and couldn’t have reached where she is now without your help and support. Let me also extend my gratitude to Ms. Moeen, her class teacher Ms. Suma and all her subject teachers for their valuable support and efforts to help her through.

She has now decided to pursue her future studies with Middlesex University, Dubai, and to take up Psychology as a mainstream. We understand that the Middlesex university offers scholarships to a nominated student from Our Own Sharjah. I would request if you would be able to assist us in anyways to nominate her which would be a great help and motivation for her.

My younger daughter Ananya Jagadeesh is in Our Own English Girls (2F) and so we have no option but to continue Anagha’s studies in Dubai. In this period of crisis related to my work, such help would be a big support to us. I look forward to your kind response and would be obliged if you could provide any support in this regard.
Once again thanking yourself and the entire teaching faculty of Our Own English Girls for the efforts and support you all have provided in moulding my daughter for the last 14 years.

  • I would like to take this opportunity to thank the hardwork and effort put in by Ms. Anitha Maam in motivating, encouraging and guiding the students in achieving this success (3rd place in Sheraa). This would not have been possible for my daughter Srinidhi nor her friends without the support from the teachers in general and Anitha ma'am, Maya ma'am and Shamita ma'am in particular. Also would like to mention a special thanks to Aniera Pereira the student whose idea, the whole project centered around.

This goes to show that you and your team have placed a great emphasis on overall development of your students and making them future leaders.

On a personal note, I am happy that Srinidhi had achieved 93.6 percent in her 10th grade and is now shining in other school-encouraged activities like Sheraa and MUNs.

My husband Gautam and I, would like to thank you and all the teachers and support staff of Our Own English High School, from the bottom of our hearts.
