Syeda Gilani
Head of Department –Islamic Studies
Syeda Shahida Gilani joined Our Own English High School Sharjah in 2003. She started her career as an Arabic teacher in primary section. She held the position for 5 years. Then she was promoted to senior section as Arabic and Islamic teacher and worked for 4 years. From 2012 onward she worked as the HOD of Islamic Studies.
Syeda’s qualifications include a B. A and B. Ed. in Islamic Studies with a Masters (M. A) in Arabic.
Syeda has been organizing the Islamic Festival the ‘Ruhaaniyaat Islamiyah' since 2013 which started as an intraschool initiative to create a deeper understanding of Islam and is currently hosted as an inter-school competition.
She was awarded the OOS Award in 2014 and Best teacher award in 2016.
