Oath- Taking Ceremony of the Junior School Parliament

A spirit of leadership, responsibility, and service filled the air at the Junior School Parliament Oath-Taking Ceremony 2026, held on 11 June 2026 at Our Own English High School –Sharjah, Girls. The event marked the formal induction of the newly elected student leaders, who pledged to serve the school community with integrity and commitment.

The ceremony began with the Principal Ms. Asma Gilani conferring badges upon the Prime Minister, Ms. Keerthana Manikandan Nair, and the Opposition Leader, Ms. Sienna Smily D’Costa, followed by the administration of the oath of office to the parliamentarians and Honorary Members of Parliament (HMPs). In her address, the principal encouraged the young leaders to lead with integrity, demonstrate empathy, and embrace their responsibilities with purpose and determination.

Adding a special touch to the occasion, parents participated in the badging ceremony, reflecting the UAE’s Year of the Family and highlighting the important role families play in nurturing future leaders. This meaningful gesture reinforced the partnership between home and school in shaping confident, responsible individuals.

Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister and Opposition Leader shared their vision for the year ahead, emphasizing the importance of teamwork, accountability, respect, and collaboration in creating a positive impact within the school community.

The ceremony concluded on an inspiring note, as the newly elected leaders embarked on their journey with enthusiasm and a shared commitment to making a meaningful difference through service, leadership, and active participation.
