OWNEX 2025
"When knowledge connects, wisdom unfolds."
Our Own English High School, Sharjah – Girls, celebrated OWNEX 2025 on Wednesday, 12th November 2025, bringing to life this year’s theme, “Aurivion – Integrated Learning, Enlightened Living!” The day honoured our belief that families are vital partners in every child’s learning journey, with students placed firmly at the heart of a shared mission to inspire curiosity, creativity, and purpose.
Community, Creativity, and Connected Learning
Parents and students created mindful memories in Parental Engagement – Mug & Masterpiece, a refreshing, guided art experience that blended relaxation, bonding, and creativity. The campus buzzed with joyful challenge in Games Arcade – Aventgem: A Quest for the Leadership Gemstones Within, a wellness-centred, non-elimination set of games that built teamwork and resilience through playful “recharge” tasks. Music elevated the mood with the student band “Beat Boulevard: Feel the Beat, Live the Moment,” celebrating togetherness through rhythm and performance.
Innovation took centre stage in Award-Winning Projects – IdeaForge: Ride the Wave of Innovation, where young creators showcased smart prototypes and sustainable designs, translating imagination into impact. A burst of confidence and character lit up Cosplay – Anime Avengers: Girls with Grit, Glow & Greatness, saluting leadership, resilience, and brilliance through powerful female anime personas.
Cultural Excellence and Performing Arts
The performing arts shone across languages and traditions. Hindi – SANKALP: The Power of Resilience & Determination conveyed courage through expressive movement; Malayalam – Swaralaya: A Rhythmic Journey into Culture, Creativity, and Consciousness blended recitation, classical dance, and skit to nurture linguistic pride and well-being; French – L’harmonie du savoir (The Harmony of Knowledge) invited audiences on a Little-Prince-inspired voyage across magical “planets” of creativity, friendship, and curiosity. Islamic Studies – Jawahara Al Islam: Where Faith Inspires Greatness (جواهر الإسلام - حيث الإيمان يصنع العظمة) reflected on timeless values from Qur’an and Sunnah, with each “gemstone” representing a core leadership quality. A cheerful Welcome Squad set the tone of hospitality throughout the day.
Global Citizenship, Enterprise, and the Social Mind
Learners engaged with the world beyond the classroom through SALUS MUN 2025 – Building Resilient Minds and Stronger Nations, grounding diplomacy in the human-centred ideals of salus—welfare, safety, and prosperity—while exploring critical humanitarian challenges.
Enterprise education came alive in Commerce – Family Business: From Family Tree to Profit Sea, tracing Indian and UAE family enterprises from origins to modern strategies, and Commerce – FINEX: Learn the Trade, Live the Market, an interactive stock-exchange experience where visitors explored market forces, bullish/bearish trends, and simulated portfolio-building.
The human sciences offered a compelling bridge between self and society in Psychology & Sociology – COGNISOC: Where Minds Meet Society, with experiential displays connecting thought, emotion, behaviour, and social structures to deepen understanding of both the individual and the community.
Across Disciplines: Language, Numbers, Nations
The English Department – LitEra: From Quills to Clicks led visitors through distinct eras of English literature with immersive staging, visuals, interactive activities, and live performances—showing how language evolves while remaining a powerful vessel for thought and feeling.
In Mathematics – MATH-360, students revealed how maths underpins everyday life through integrated presentations that wove together music, dance, and live model displays—turning abstraction into insight.
Social Studies – Sand to Stars charted the UAE’s transformative journey from pearl-diving and trade to a modern, diversified nation, fostering pride in heritage and appreciation for the vision that drives the country forward.
Tastes, Textures, and the Art of Living
Home Science – Around the World with 80 Bites: A Culinary Expedition whisked audiences across Europe, Mexico, India, Japan, and Thailand alongside Mr. Fogg, Passepartout, and Aouda—showing how a humble grain like rice transforms in flavour, texture, and form as it travels across cultures, and how cuisine becomes a classroom for creativity, nutrition, and design.
OWNEX 2025 was not a display but a dialogue—between disciplines, cultures, and generations. It affirmed the strength of Parteneriat, our cherished parent-school partnership, and our commitment to nurturing learners who think critically, act responsibly, and live meaningfully. As Principal Ms. Asma Gilani reflected, when families, teachers, and students come together in integrated learning, education becomes truly transformative.
Aurivion reminds us that when knowledge connects, life is enlightened—and every child’s journey shines brighter.
