A New Chapter in Student Leadership -  Investiture Ceremony 2025

On May 1st, Our Own English High School, Sharjah (Girls) proudly welcomed its new student leaders in a vibrant Investiture Ceremony. With flags held high, they marched forward—symbols of commitment, courage, and purpose.

We were honored to have Dr. Fathima Bailey, Associate Professor & Chair at Sharjah Education Academy, as our Chief Guest. In her inspiring speech, Dr. Fathima urged the student leaders to see themselves as future scholars, doctors, architects, and changemakers.

Ms. Asma Gilani, Principal & CEO conferred the badges of responsibility, joined by the SLT and SMT, as proud parents and teachers looked on. With hands over their hearts, the student leaders pledged to uphold the values and vision of OOS.

The speech by Sameeha Zainab Ansari, the Head Girl, reminded the newly enrolled student leaders that leadership is not about authority but consistency. She concluded with a quote by Lil Wayne: “Leaders don’t create followers, they create more leaders,” drawing cheers and applause.

Student Council President Kundanika Biswas closed the ceremony with a heartfelt vote of thanks, reflecting on her own journey.
